We're pleased to provide our members and supporters with an important update on our riding's grassroots-driven candidate nomination process.

Late last week, our Association's Candidate Nomination Committee received news from Conservative Party headquarters that Rhonda Kirkland had earned the nomination as Oshawa's new Conservative candidate.

With your support in the months ahead, I'm certain she'll earn voters' trust and win election to Parliament as Oshawa's next Conservative MP.

Some of you may be asking, "When was the nomination vote?" or "Did I miss it?".

No; you didn't miss a thing.

As it turns out, no other individual was successful in becoming an 'authorized' candidate by the deadline of 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 2. Thus, there was no requirement for our Association to hold an in-person vote.

As President, I'm also pleased to report that our Association's membership increased substantially over the past several months owing largely to Rhonda's nomination effort.

It's evident that Rhonda and her team did the work we all expect of a serious nomination contestant. She knocked the doors, made the calls, recruited a small army of energetic volunteers, and sold the memberships required to earn the broad support of our membership.

On behalf of our Association's Candidate Nomination Committee and Board, I extend my warmest congratulations to Rhonda and welcome her as our Association's new candidate.

We stand ready to support Rhonda and we’ll do everything required to ensure she's elected to serve as Oshawa's next MP in a new Conservative government led by Pierre Poilievre.

You'll be hearing more from Rhonda shortly and it appears that she's made a quick transition from nominee to candidate over the past few days.

I'd also urge you to lend her a hand by offering to volunteer, reserving your lawn sign, or making a tax-deductible contribution to our Association via her refreshed website.

And don't forget to purchase your tickets for our Association's event on on Saturday, October 19. It's an affordable and fun way to spend some time with your Oshawa Conservative family.

As always, we remain very grateful for everyone's continued interest and support for our Association, the Conservative Party, Colin and, now, Rhonda.

Sincerely,

George Sittlinger

President
