2012
EDA President Jeff Yang and Oshawa MP
Colin Carrie celebrate on election
night, May 2, 2011.
|
Since the Conservative Party of Canada was founded in
December 2003, our association has been very
active in and around Oshawa.
From January to
June 2004, hundreds of our members worked
tirelessly to elect Colin as Oshawa's first
Conservative MP in almost forty years. Just
two years later, from
November 2005 to January 2006, we fought a tough
but spirited campaign to re-elect Colin and a
new Conservative government. In October 2008, we substantially
increased our support and earned another
hard-fought victory in of Canada's most
competitive ridings.
Last year, during the 2011 general election, our
team scored the largest plurality for any party
in the Oshawa riding since 1980 (51.1% of the
popular vote) as our party earned a solid 4-year
majority mandate.
Each year, our board organizes
a number of volunteer recognition, fundraising, and training events aimed at bringing Oshawa's Conservatives closer
together and preparing for the next federal election. Our members and
delegates also play key roles in the development of our
Party's policies and election platforms.
If you'd like to assist in the
next campaign or with any of our other activities, please get in touch with
us through this feedback form. As a new volunteer, you'll receive a
warm welcome.
Thanks
-- and see you soon.
Best
wishes,
Jeff
